Creating a Brand and Website Around the Work A brand identity and website designed to give Hannah Kay Photographs a presence that matched the quality of her work. Through client collaboration, brand exploration, and intentional UX/UI design, I built an identity and site that put her photography — not a template — front and center. My Role Brand & UX/UI Designer — Elise Design Studio I partnered directly with Hannah to understand the story behind her work, the clients she wanted to attract, and the feeling she wanted people to have before they ever saw a single photo. From there, I led the project end to end, from brand identity through final website design. Through client conversations, brand exploration, and iterative design, I translated her vision into a cohesive identity and a site built to showcase it. The Process Understanding the Brand Before designing anything, I focused on understanding the person and the work behind the brand — not just what it needed to look like, but how it needed to feel to the clients she wanted to reach. Through conversations with Hannah, I explored: The story and style behind her photography — [confirm niche: portrait, wedding, lifestyle, etc.] The type of clients she wanted to attract The feeling she wanted her brand to leave people with What wasn't working about her current, more templated presence By leading with empathy, I was able to shape a brand and site that felt personal and true to how she actually works. Building the Identity Using insights from our conversations, I developed a visual direction centered around [confirm direction — e.g. warmth, editorial simplicity, timeless minimalism], focused on: A primary logo and secondary marks A typography system built to feel considered, not decorative A color palette that let the photography stay the focal point Guidelines to keep the brand consistent across every touchpoint I explored several directions before landing on a system that felt authentic to her work and flexible enough to grow with her business. Designing the Website With the identity in place, I designed a website built around one priority: letting the photography lead. That meant: [Confirm: gallery-first layout / minimal navigation / booking flow] Responsive design across devices UI decisions that stayed out of the way of the images A clear, simple path from browsing to booking Each decision was made with intention — making sure the site felt like an extension of the brand, not a separate afterthought. Final Outcome The result was a cohesive brand identity and website that give Hannah Kay Photographs a consistent, professional presence — from a client's first impression through booking an inquiry. By combining brand strategy with thoughtful UX/UI design, I helped replace a templated presence with one that actually reflects the quality of her work.
