Creating a Brand and Website Around the Work A brand identity and website designed to give Emily Condra Photography a presence that matched the energy, personality, and quality behind her work. Through client collaboration, brand exploration, and intentional UX/UI design, I built an identity and site that put Emily’s photography and personality — not a template — front and center. My Role Brand & UX/UI Designer — Elise Design Studio I partnered directly with Emily to understand the story behind her work, the couples she wanted to attract, and the feeling she wanted people to have when they discovered her brand. From there, I led the project end to end, from brand identity through final website design. Through client conversations, brand exploration, and iterative design, I translated Emily’s personality and approach to photography into a cohesive identity and digital experience. The Process 1. Understanding the Brand Before designing anything, I focused on understanding the person and the work behind the brand — not just what the website needed to look like, but how it needed to feel to the couples she wanted to reach. Through conversations with Emily, I explored: - The story and personality behind her photography - The couples and clients she wanted to attract - Her approach to documenting wedding days and the moments that make them personal - The balance between elevated photography and a fun, approachable client experience - What wasn't working about her existing digital presence By leading with empathy, I was able to shape a brand and site that felt personal to Emily while creating a more intentional experience for potential clients. 2. Building the Identity Using insights from our conversations, I developed a visual direction centered around **editorial simplicity, personality, and timelessness**, focused on: - A primary logo and supporting brand marks - A typography system that feels elevated without becoming overly formal - A refined color palette that allows the photography to remain the focal point - Graphic elements that add personality without competing with the imagery - A cohesive visual system that could extend across Emily’s brand touchpoints I explored several directions before landing on a system that felt authentic to Emily’s personality and photography while giving the brand room to grow. 3. Designing the Website With the identity in place, I designed a website built around one priority: letting the work lead while making Emily herself part of the experience. That meant: - A photography-first visual hierarchy - Intentional storytelling throughout the experience - Simple, intuitive navigation - Responsive design across devices - UI decisions that stayed out of the way of the imagery - A clear path from discovering Emily’s work to learning about her approach and ultimately reaching out Each decision was made with intention — creating a site that feels like an extension of Emily’s brand rather than a separate digital presence. ## Final Outcome The result was a cohesive brand identity and website that bring Emily’s photography, personality, and approach to weddings together into one intentional experience. By combining brand strategy with thoughtful UX/UI design, I created a digital presence that feels distinctly Emily — one that lets her work make the first impression while giving potential clients a better sense of the person behind the camera.
